Birth support, advocacy, and empowerment
Birth doula serving the Seattle area
You deserve to birth YOUR way and have a team that will advocate for you.
What is a doula?
According to DONA International, a birth doula is “a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.” The purpose of a doula is not to replace your birthing partner but rather to empower you both during this experience.

Why hire a doula?
People who birth with a doula on their team have reported significantly more positive experiences and higher satisfaction with their birth. In an article published by the American Pregnancy Association, studies reported having a doula on the birth team resulted in:
Decreased cesarean rate by 50%
Decreased length of labor by 25%
Decreased use of artificial oxytocin by 40%
Decreased requests for an epidural by 60%
A doula provides individualized comfort and coping techniques, and labor positions, as well as acts as an advocate to amplify your preferences. A doula also provides immediate postpartum support and breastfeeding assistance.
